In the crafting of furniture, modern edge banding places high requirements on the adhesive. The invisible glue line is the benchmark. In close cooperation with renowned machine manufacturers, KLEIBERIT has developed groundbreaking solutions. Different adhesives are used depending on the requirements. Adhesive selection focuses on the materials being used, the environment where the furniture will be used in the future, and the technical parameters in production. Depending on the intended purpose, EVA, PO or PUR hotmelt adhesives are used.
Edge Banding (bathroom)
Besides the appealing look of an edge, the quality of the edge bond plays an important role. If the environment is humid or if the furniture comes into contact with moisture, then reactive PUR hotmelts are used. For these polyurethane based adhesive systems, chemical cross linking occurs after they physically set. Therefore, a much higher temperature and moisture resistance is achieved.

Edge Banding (kitchen)
Moisture, heat, water – no problem for KLEIBERIT PUR hotmelt adhesives for edge banding. For these polyurethane based adhesive systems, chemical cross linking occurs after they physically set. Therefore, a much higher temperature (-30° C to 150 °C) and moisture resistance is achieved. KLEIBERIT PUR hotmelt adhesives are used for nearly all edge materials and all of the raw materials which are used fulfill Directive 2002/72/EG for products intended for contact with foodstuffs (707.9).
